Need to purchase BCG and charging handle ($120 in the “Finish Your Build” tab) but still makes it a great deal. Caliber does not matter on the lower receiver, but very much matters on the barrel.
Those who understands this, understands the build process, the ammunition and the reason for the higher cost.... It’s not just laser etching on a pot metal. .223 Wylde chambering adds additional accuracy by having a smaller chamber throat compared to 5.56 but will still shoot both .223 and 5.56 NATO.
If you want to go light…but not at the expense of extreme lightening cuts and possible reduced reliability. I guess Geissele gets left out for fairly obvious reasons. There's nothing wrong with purchasing a factory assembled lower and swapping out a few parts to get it just right.
Thanks for your site.
We’ve built dozens of AR’s and we’ll cover all the best AR-15 upgrades such as handguards, triggers, BCGs, gas blocks, and more. Can I use another company’s upper? Want someone who stands behind what they sell?
Word of caution. I didn't see any comments on manual assists.

Lets start with a "mil-spec" rifle.
The low price of this lower does not necessarily mean that the quality is somehow worse than others. When comparing billet vs forged receivers, it’s like comparing apples to oranges.
Adding a brass deflector may seem an insignificant choice, however, hot brass will get your attention. Enjoyed the article. They don't like that, and at some companies, the assembler, whose d code is stamped into the bottom of the grip frame, will do anything to avoid the issue. ($684). It has an oversized integral trigger guard and a beveled magazine flare for easy magazine changes.
Just something to be aware of. I guess some people have to justify what They paid to buy or build their AR. Either way, that cartridge doesn’t belong in the chamber and forcing it in could create unsafe chamber pressures upon firing. Picatinny rails provide a stable mounting surface for iron sights, optics, or other accessories.
the upper no, the suppressor yes. All AR-15 upper receivers can be bought in one of three levels of completion. Even though a CNC milling machine does the work, billet uppers cannot be considered a mass-produced part. There are only 3 upper receiver manufactures and all make them to mill spec. I learned a few things that I'm glad to know. These types of builds have longer barrels such as 18″ or 20″ for increased bullet velocity and may even use stainless steel barrels barrel for better accuracy. Let’s step away from the standard for a moment. Comes with flash suppressor.
Just because someone spends a bunch of money on a "top tier" rifle doesn't mean their not gonna have problems or accuracy issues. The beauty of the AR-15 is that you can slap on a different upper and gain a whole new barrel length and even caliber. And if you’re ready to build…here’s our AR-15 Upper Assembly Visual Guide.
In either situation, one certainly should address the underlying problem and not simply shove the round into the chamber.
